network. As a Power System Engineering Graduate, you'll gain hands‑on experience in planning, designing, and delivering customer connections that support the UK’s energy transition. CND is responsible for building connection offers that include the necessary contractual and technical requirements, identifying appropriate technical designs, and managing the efficient delivery of these connections. The team works closely with customers and industry partners, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and frameworks while continuously improving the connections process to reduce lead times and enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Support customer connection projects by conducting technical studies and assessing the impact of new connections on the network.
* Assist in the planning and design of electrical power systems to ensure reliable generation, transmission, and distribution.
* Collaborate with colleagues and participate in development projects, gaining input from your line manager and access to 121 coaching and mentorship.
* Develop key technical skills aligned to your role and participate in learning modules such as working safely, communication, and presentation skills.
* Navigate the role with support, gaining access to 121 coaching and a mentor from a previous cohort to transition from campus to corporate life.
* Complete three 6‑month placements across the UK designed to broaden your knowledge of your speciality and the business.
Qualifications & What You’ll Need to Apply
Minimum 2:2 degree in Engineering, Maths, Computer Science, or Data Science.
You must have the legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship now or in the future under the UK points‑based immigration system. Applications are welcome from candidates who meet these requirements, regardless of race, nationality, or ethnic origin.
Location
This role is based in Warwick and may offer flexible hybrid working where possible.
What You’ll Get In Return
Graduate starting salary of £36,640.

About The Role
Join our Customer Network Development (CND) team at National Grid, focused on connecting new and existing generation and demand customers to the energy system operators, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to solve connection challenges and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Contributing to network capacity studies and helping identify innovative solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability while staying informed on emerging technologies and shaping the future of the energy system as we move towards net zero.
