Your new role
Our client is actively seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Public Health Team in Northern Ireland.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing feasibility studies for water and wastewater projects
• Undertaking design work and being responsible for preparing contract documentation for public health and water engineering.
• You’ll be tasked with creating project specifications. This involvesbining standard specifications from external agencies with in-house specifications.
• Supervising graduates and technicians, guiding them in the preparation of detailed scheme drawings.
• Actively participate in design team meetings and engage in client consultations.
• Organising and overseeing site surveys and site investigations.
• Operating within our firm’s quality system, ensuring adherence to procedures. Additionally, you’ll contribute to the designer’s input for health and safety plans related to projects.
• As needed, you may apply other general civil engineering skills across different sections of ourpany.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for the Senior Civil Engineer role, our client requires a candidate:
1. With a Degree in Civil Engineering and or is working towards or has achieved chartered status as a desirable benefit.
2. Have 5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering in Public Health, Water, or alternative civil engineering sector.
3. Possess good technical knowledge both in MS Word and Excel
4. Proficient in using BIM software
5. Ideally, candidates should have good negotiating and interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team environment or on their own initiative, be client focused, with good organisational skills, as well as be able to maintain confidentiality due to the nature of work.
