Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join our client, a leading specialist in their industry with customers worldwide. Your responsibilities will include executing planned and corrective electrical maintenance activities to ensure reliable operation and performance of various plant and equipment.
Key duties include:
1. Implementing scheduled maintenance using work orders from the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
2. Responding to equipment failures and performing corrective measures.
3. Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, including PLCs, electrical panels, MCCs, SCADA systems, and general electrical duties.
4. Performing disassembly, repair, overhaul, and testing of electrical plant.
5. Installing and repairing industrial equipment and components.
6. Investigating symptoms to identify root causes of problems.
7. Proposing solutions for improving plant safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Qualifications and experience required:
1. Certification according to IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 17th/18th edition.
2. Trade-level electrical engineering apprenticeship.
3. Experience in a similar role.
4. Knowledge of automated/PLC-controlled equipment, MCCs, and SCADA systems.
5. Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and process schematics, including P&ID diagrams.
6. Understanding of mechanical systems is advantageous.
7. Experience in heavy industry is desirable.
8. Current CSCS card or equivalent, with PASMA and MEWP licenses beneficial.
9. Forklift license is advantageous.
10. Certification in confined spaces and BA escape is beneficial.
11. Strong understanding of safe work systems, including risk assessments, method statements, isolation procedures, and permits to work.
12. Proficiency with handheld computerized equipment.
13. Flexibility and responsiveness to business needs.
14. Valid driver's license.
