Job Title: Trainee Machine Operator (Pipe Turner and Horizontal Borer)
Hours of Work: Full‑time: 37.5 hours on shifts (some flexibility required)

An individual who has an eye for detail and takes pride in producing a quality product will fit this role perfectly. A competitive wage will be paid. To assist in the production of components to customer specifications, an individual will need to:
Outline of Role and Responsibilities
- Load and unload pipes into machines.
- Set up and operate pipe lathe and Horizontal Borer machines.
- Machine bores and weld prep angles of pipe to drawing and/or specification.
- Conduct dimensional verification on machine and machined surfaces.
- De‑rag machined surfaces on machine.
- Interpret work orders and drawings to determine production specification and information.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised work environment.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimise manufacturing processes.
- Maintain equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in operating manual lathes and Horizontal Borer, understanding machining principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining techniques.
- Good process and product knowledge.
- Ability to adapt to different situations which may require flexibility on working hours.
- Ability to use initiative.
- Well organised and able to manage time.
- Ensuring best work practices are employed.
- Ensuring that customer requirements are being achieved.
