This role has a starting salary of £34,660 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Surrey Fire & Rescue Service as a specialist Administrator providing support to the Business and Community safety teams in our Prevention and Protection work. The team are based at Woodhatch, Reigate but we promote a hybrid approach to working; although it is essential to have the flexibility to work from various locations across Surrey as required.

About the Team
We are a small team working with a variety of workstreams. The Team carries out statutory and non-statutory duties, in relation to technical, regulatory protection and prevention activities within the fire safety arena. We are looking for an individual who can provide a wide range of support to Protection and Prevention Managers, Fire Safety Teams, Partnership Officers, Safeguarding teams, Fire Investigators, Risk Intelligence, and Children & Young people Teams.
About the Role
The Role of a Community Resilience Support Administrator is one that requires attention to detail, a methodical approach, organisation and a keenness for problem solving. There is a high degree of working with legislative, official, and sensitive material, such as, quality assurance of risk information, incident reporting, preparation of Coroners reports and fire safety enforcement & prosecution documentation.
The team utilise bespoke in-house Fire Safety systems to process consultation correspondence relating to Building regulations, Licensing applications, Sports Ground certificates and risk information; all of which are time sensitive activities. This may include the interpretation of plan drawings, reading schedules relating to building work, tracking fire safety inspection and audit information and the accurate recording and reporting of electronic statistics within our databases. A large amount of responsibility of the team is to quality assure the outcomes and activities involved in formal notices, eg. enforcements and prohibition workstreams relating to business fire safety.
The team often liaise with internal and external partners and stakeholders, such as Finance Partners, Operational Risk, Data Intelligence, Local Authorities and Businesses, Fire & Rescue Services, National Fire Chiefs Council, and The Institute of Fire Engineers.
The organisation of continuous professional development (CPD) events to our fire safety regulators is carried out by the team. This involves coordinating and facilitating quarterly events, including the booking of external speakers and venues, to supply and produce materials & resources, and arrange catering for a large group of delegates.
Wider administrative duties include the production and distribution of internally led educational campaigns and courses, financial resilience for purchasing, maintaining accurate record keeping, information gathering for investigations and freedom of information requests, generating reports, formatting correspondence and minute taking.
