Thebig picture
TheCustomer Solution Specialist (CSS) role is dedicated to providing technicalsupport and subject matter expertise, providing product advice and solutions toour regional sales teams and customers. The role may have a domain specialism.The role sits within the regional Customer Solutions team.
Theideal candidate will bring proven technical and solution design skills gainedwithin a complex technological solution-sale-based technology market. They mustbe ‘customer facing’ – able to interface with prospects and customers withcharisma and presence to quickly get to the heart of the client’s existingsoftware environment, identify and propose solutions that will improve theirbusiness processes and ultimately, success. Present complex technical solutionswith gravitas. Be able to “join the dots” between technology and the businessbenefit; recommend optimal solution designs whilst managing the customers’expectations to establish and maintain technical credibility. The successfulcandidate will need to possess the skills to communicate effectively withpeople from many different cultures, as well as with users where English is nottheir primary language. This will include in-person and web-delivereddemonstrations and training of the full ecosystem of our products and services.
Therole will require the candidate to become proficient across multiple solutionsin the Seequent portfolio, to be able to support across multiple segments, thusproviding a true generalist technical sales / SME capability to the go-to-market(GTM) teams. Being hands-on, task orientated and customer focused, this role isresponsible for providing well rounded technical assistance backed up by greatproduct knowledge, quick response times, analysis, problem-solving and solutionfinding. Business acumen and the ability to support further growth in customeraccounts is a core aspect of this role. Significant travel can be expected toensure we retain a strong market orientation. This role is a key part of leveragingour fast-expanding footprint and an opportunity to be part of a great team, ina great company, with a great purpose.

Product Knowledge
1. Become proficient as a generalist CSS across theSeequent product portfolio including Leapfrog, Central, Geoslope, PLAXIS,OpenGround and other products or solutions as required;
2. Learn from the customer how, what, where andwhy they are using our products or competitive products and the problems thatthey are attempting to solve, then feed that information back to theappropriate teams within the business;
3. Develop and share their own technical expertiseto provide advisory support to customers, colleagues, and peers enabling themto be successful in meeting their objectives.
Professional capabilities
4. Demonstrated ability to question, listen andanalyse to establish the current and desired picture;
5. Provide solutions appropriate to the clients’needs and to improve their business results;
6. Be responsive to customer technical queriesproviding timely and professional support;
7. Be authentic; become a business partner andtrusted advisor to clients, peers and prospective customers.
Sales/revenue generation
8. Be a team player, working as part of theregional team to identify and progress opportunities within new and existingcustomers;
Gather market intelligence;
9. Market development – setting up demonstrations,webinars and supplying product information to prospective customers;
10. Be a CRM champion by ensuring the accuratemaintenance of the client database which provides Segment and ProductManagement with vital market information relating to future business pipeline.
Marketing and Business Goals
11. Actively monitor customer satisfaction levelsand work to improve outcomes and customer perceptions;
12. Assist, facilitate and support all productupgrades, new releases and new products.

Skills, knowledge and competencies required tobe great at this role
22. Experience ideally in ground investigation,environmental geology, geotechnical engineering, civil or environmentalengineering consultancy or related industry;
23. Tertiary qualification in geology,hydrogeology, earth sciences, mathematics, engineering, or a closely-relateddiscipline;
24. Operational experience in civil orenvironmental engineering infrastructure construction projects an advantage;
25. Experience using, developing, or testing commercialsoftware in fields of GIS, geospatial, 3D modelling, geoscience, numericalmodelling or data management, an advantage;
26. Experience in Leapfrog, Central, Geostudio,PLAXIS, would be advantageous;
27. Technical orientation and natural curiosity forhow software works and a passion for being regarded as an expect user andtechnical guru;
28. Account management and relationship buildingabilities;
29. Demonstrable ability to support sales withtechnical information and insight, advice, demonstrations, solutionarchitecting, best practise, innovative ideas etc during pre-sales phase toensure we are crafting a winning solution for the opportunity that gainsmindshare and credibility;
30. Demonstrable ability to confidently providepre-sales technical and solution support to the sales teams, and lead and ownthe technical aspects of prospect and customer engagements;
31. Keep sales teams and management updatedproactively on progress of all solutions, presales, and post-sales;
32. Be able to demonstrate and train customersacross the entire software solution set, with style, proficiency and knowledgein C level and technical audience customer meetings;
33. Confident oral and written communication skillsin English (other European languages a plus);
34. Proven team player with a self-starter attitudewith ability to work well independently and self-manage workload effectively;
35. Balanced and informed approach to problemsolving;
36. Tenacity, persistence and focus with theability to prioritise between multiple tasks;
37. Innovative, open to and able to work in a fastgrowing, fast paced and constantly changing environment.
