About the Role

The Technical Planner is responsible for controlling repair projects within the Aftermarket Operations Repair Facility and coordinating with external vendors from the release of work orders through to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with NOV specifications and quality standards.

The Technical Planner plays a key role in coordinating repair activities, maintaining accurate planning documentation, monitoring job costs, and facilitating communication between internal teams, customers, and suppliers. This role supports operational efficiency by ensuring work orders, inspection plans, and documentation are properly managed throughout the repair lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

6. Create, revise, and maintain Quality Plans, Routers, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
7. Prepare work packs and release work orders to the repair shop.
8. Schedule and lead job kick-off meetings for new projects.
9. Ensure repair projects are completed on time and within planned cost targets.
10. Provide input to the Scheduler for manufacturing and repair build plans.
11. Maintain and update ERP systems, routers, and documentation in line with company procedures.
12. Manage and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and submit pick tickets.
13. Support shop floor technicians and supervisors with technical queries.
14. Monitor job costs and progress during the repair phase to ensure contract compliance.
15. Coordinate with engineering, suppliers, vendors, and internal departments as required.
16. Arrange repair kick-off meetings with customers and internal stakeholders when required.
17. Track production status and monitor purchase requisitions for outside services.
18. Maintain project tracking systems and ensure accurate project documentation.
19. Assist with data book and final documentation creation alongside the Repair Coordinator.
20. Review completed work orders and support billing documentation submission.
21. Participate in competency programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

22. GCSE Level 3 or above or equivalent relevant business qualification.
23. Computer literacy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
24. Experience in a similar planning or operational role.

Desirable

25. HNC/HND in a business-related subject or equivalent qualification.
26. Working knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry.
