My client is seeking a talented, driven Assistant Drainage Engineer, willing to take on challenging projects alongside an established team of expert flood risk and drainage professionals, working on small-, medium-, and large-scale projects in and around the beautiful Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for the role of Assistant Drainage Engineer include:
7. Work on several aspects of projects, including hydraulic modelling, flood risk, flood estimation, and drainage strategy
8. Contribute toward a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across Scotland, and further afield, for clients across the public and private sectors
9. Complete flood risk assessments and reports
10. Engage with flood estimation and surface water management plans
11. Design drainage strategies and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
12. Work on designing access roads
13. Utilise a variety of design software packages, including Civils 3D, Causeway PDS, InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD
Required skills and experience for the role of Assistant Drainage Engineer include:
14. Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or similar, relevant discipline
15. Demonstrable experience of working in a UK consultancy or local authority setting, specifically in a design-based role
16. Extensive experience of producing flood risk assessments, flood risk reports, drainage strategies, and drainage design using the appropriate design software
17. Highly proficient in the use of Civils 3D, InfoDrainage, and Causeway Flow
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Assistant Drainage Engineer include:
18. Reside locally, with good knowledge of the region and its characteristics
19. Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
