Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations and research sites across the UK, as well as electricity generation at the Maentwrog hydroelectric plant. NRS Dounreay focuses on the clean-up and demolition of the former fast reactor research and development site.

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated engineer, preferably with an electrical background, to join the Trawsfynydd Decommissioning Programme. The role involves delivering engineering solutions for construction, de-planting, and demolition projects, managing schedules, and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.


Key Responsibilities

1. Identify project requirements and stakeholder needs.
2. Develop concept designs and engineering solutions.
3. Review and approve technical specifications.
4. Manage detailed design activities in line with standards and regulations.
5. Prepare modification proposals and act as Nominated Responsible Engineer.
6. Supervise commissioning and decommissioning activities.
7. Manage project handovers, ensuring documentation and training are provided.
8. Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and safety standards.
9. Maintain site configuration control of documentation.
10. Adhere to all health, safety, security, and quality policies.
11. Review incidents and conduct root cause analysis to improve practices.


Qualifications and Experience

* HNC, Engineering Degree, or equivalent (Essential).
* Experience in a disciplined engineering role on industrial plant (Essential).
* Nuclear or conventional project engineering experience (Essential).
* Knowledge of relevant standards and safety regulations (Essential).
* Understanding of site licensing and quality management (Desirable).
* Experience with project delivery (Desirable).
