There has never been a more exciting time to be involved in Northern Ireland football. The Irish FA continues to build on a period of positive progress and momentum, investing in world-class facilities, strengthening its governance, and advancing participation and performance at every level of the game. As the governing body of football in Northern Ireland, the Irish FA exists to promote, foster and develop football for all. From the growth of the womens and girls game to the success of emerging youth talent through the national academies, and the creation of a new National Football Centre at Galgorm, the Associations purpose is clear: to build a sustainable future for football and its wider social and economic impact across Northern Ireland. To help guide that ambition, we are now seeking to appoint an Independent Board Member who will strengthen the Boards capability in financial and commercial oversight. This appointment will play a critical role in ensuring robust governance, transparency, and accountability across the Association. The successful candidate may also be invited to chair the Audit and Risk Committee. We are seeking a senior professional with significant experience in finance or commercial leadership at Board or executive level. You will bring independence of judgement, strategic foresight, and a disciplined but pragmatic approach to governance. Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and a belief in the positive role of sport in society are essential. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Northern Irelands most important sporting and civic institutions and help shape the strategic direction of football, while supporting Irish FAs growth and long-term success. Board appointments at Irish FA are voluntary, with expenses reimbursed in line with Irish FA policy. This appointment is offered on a one-year renewable term.
