About the Role
Our MST CAN team works intensively with families where children are subject to Child Protection Plans for neglect or physical abuse. This evidence-based programme is designed to reduce risk, keep families safely together, and improve long-term outcomes for both children and parents.
As an MST CAN Therapist, you’ll deliver targeted, home-based interventions (not in a clinical setting) tailored to each family’s unique needs. This includes multiple weekly sessions, flexible scheduling, and 24/7 on-call support during active treatment phases.
Your work will help:
• Keep children safely at home
• Prevent abuse and neglect
• Reduce mental health difficulties for both children and adults
• Build stronger, more resilient family and community support networks
You’ll receive comprehensive MST CAN training, regular supervision, and ongoing clinical support to ensure you thrive in your role.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong professional background and the passion to make a real impact.
You’ll need:
• A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (. social work, mental health nursing, clinical psychology)
• Solid experience in family-based interventions with young people
• Practical knowledge of therapeutic models such as CBT, SFBT, systemic or behavioural approaches
• A deep understanding of safeguarding and risk management
• Experience of managing complex cases and driving positive outcomes
You’ll also need to be willing to take part in our on-call rota, and an enhanced DBS check for regulated activity is required.
Alongside the chance to change lives, you’ll also benefit from:
• Full MST CAN model training and CPD
• Weekly clinical supervision and consultation
• Flexible, family-centred working
• A culture that values your wellbeing and professional growth
