We’re looking for a skilled, motivated Planning Policy and Land Charges Team Manager to lead our talented team at a pivotal moment. With our Local Plan review heading for submission in 2026 and adoption in 2027, you’ll play a central role in shaping how our communities evolve, balancing growth, sustainability, and great place-making.
What you’ll be doing
🔹 Lead and inspire the Planning Policy and Land Charges team.
🔹 Drive the Local Plan through submission, examination, and adoption.
🔹 Oversee Section 106 monitoring, ensuring contributions are secured.
🔹 Support and guide the high-performing Land Charges service.
🔹 Collaborate with Members, senior officers, and regional partners.
🔹 Represent the council at committees, hearings, and examinations.
What we’re looking for
🔹 Comfortable leading complex and high-profile projects
🔹 Experience preparing and delivering Local Plans
🔹 RTPI membership (or eligibility).
🔹 Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
🔹 A calm, pragmatic approach and the ability to motivate others.
