Flexible PA required

Details: This role is to support a woman who is a full‑time wheelchair user with spina bifida. I require assistance with transfers, daily activities and occasional clinical procedures, and I would welcome a reliable, enthusiastic personal assistant to work approximately 6 hours per week.
Employment status: Employed (or potentially self‑employed, depending on agreement)
Hours per week: 6 hours per week, with flexibility in how these hours are arranged. Occasional additional hours may be available to cover other PA’s leave or sickness.
Hourly pay rate: To be discussed at interview.
Responsibilities
* Moving and handling
* Clinical tasks (including a procedure to be carried out three times a week)
* Other relevant duties as required
* Housekeeping
* Shopping
* Cooking
* Transportation (car driving essential)
* Companionship
* Dressing / undressing
* Bathroom assistance
* Assist with dressing, showering and pressure area care; experience with hoists helpful but training can be provided

Additional requirements
* Own vehicle and driver licence required (must be able to drive safely)
* Non‑smoker preferred or willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
* Considerate of the risk of infection and disease transmission

If successful, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer, not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self‑employed basis, depending on suitability and agreement. If employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and an employment contract.
We are looking for someone who enjoys shared activities such as theatre, cinema, art galleries, gardens and shopping, and can give me confidence and support to use public transport more often.
