Our Non-Medical Prescribers (NMPs) are integral members of our multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams. They play a pivotal role in delivering recovery-orientated drug and alcohol treatment, providing clinical leadership within prescribing clinics and acting as a key point of contact for colleagues and partner agencies on prescribing matters. Through safe, effective prescribing and holistic clinical care, NMP s help shape high-quality, person-centred services that improve outcomes for the people we support. We are now seeking an experienced Non-Medical Prescriber to join our dedicated Liverpool service. In this role, you will assess, diagnose and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care tailored to individual need. About the Role You will: Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment and care for people accessing our services. Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness in line with evidence-based practice, national and local protocols and your scope of practice. Prioritise and respond to complex, urgent or emergency clinical situations, seeking guidance from the Clinical Lead when required. Assess, update and refer service users for blood-borne virus vaccination and immunisation programmes. Promote health and wellbeing, supporting people to adopt healthier lifestyles and reduce harm. Communicate effectively with service users and carers, adapting communication to meet different needs, cultures and levels of understanding. Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners, acting as an advocate for service users and colleagues where appropriate. Produce accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records in line with legislation, policy and professional standards. Contribute to quality improvement through reflection, peer review, benchmarking and formal evaluation, including participation in annual appraisal. About You You will be: A qualified pharmacist with current GPhC registration and at least two years’ post-qualification experience, or a first-level registered nurse with a current PIN and at least three years’ post-qualification experience. A qualified Non-Medical Prescriber. Experienced in substance misuse treatment, with at least one year of recent and relevant practice. Knowledgeable in harm reduction and health promotion approaches. Confident in assessment, recovery planning and written reporting. An effective communicator, able to engage clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing. In possession of a full driving licence and access to transport, or able to demonstrate ease of movement between services where required.
