Job description
Our client, a leader in the aerospace sector, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team in developing safety-critical technology for aerospace applications. This is a permanent, site-based role with the potential to work from home one day a week, when the nature of the work permits. Due to the level of projects involved and security requirements, this role is restricted to UK and EU nationals only.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Capturing and deriving system requirements
2. System design, modelling, performance optimisation, and safety assessment
3. Overseeing hardware/software integration activities
4. System verification including simulation, analysis, system tests, qualification tests, and flight tests
5. Support system certification and customer approval
6. Follow robust configuration control, review, and change management processes
7. Assisting in the compilation of plans, estimates, task lists, and risk management plans
8. Work with customers and respond to their requests in a timely and professional manner
9. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and internal departments across the company
10. Work with external sub-contract organisations as required
Job Requirements:
11. Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science
12. Experience in Systems Engineering
13. Experience in authoring plans, procedures, and reports for Qualification programmes (Environmental and EMC tests as per DO-160G or equivalent military standards)
14. Strong written and verbal communication skills
15. Good interpersonal and team-building skills
16. Decision making skills
17. Analytical and research skills, with the ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and present findings
18. Well-organised, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
19. Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
20. Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
21. Intermediate level knowledge of PC software applications and strong understanding of PC operating systems
Ideally you will also have:
22. Experience of working in the Aerospace industry
