An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rotherham Foundation Trust funded by the SYB Cancer Alliance for 12 months, for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Band 7 to lead work across the SYB system to explore, develop, test and deliver a virtual lower GI Straight To Test Triage model which enhances patient experience and improves pathway timeliness.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will act as an advocate for patient care, with an emphasis on optimising existing resources and expertise across LGI acute provider teams, promoting workforce productivity and the achievement of cancer wait times targets.
This fast paced and varied role requires an individual who is a practitioner within the speciality field and has the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and the multi professional teams in both hospital and community and across SYB Cancer Alliance to develop a quality STT Triage service.
Main duties of the job
The CNS-STT Lead will play a lead role in working across the SYB system to explore, develop, test and deliver a virtual Lower GI STT Triage model which enhances patient experience and improves pathway timeliness. There will be an emphasis on optimising existing resources and expertise across LGI acute provider teams, promoting workforce productivity and the achievement of Cancer Wait Times targets
The ideal candidate will be an experienced nurse working at band6/7 with a keen interest in the LGI Cancer Pathway. You will work closely with the wider team and must be able to forge good working relations. Be able to provide essential data/audit collection to the Cancer Alliance and be able to present this information to others through various platforms both locally and across the SYB Cancer Alliance
Act as an advocate for patient care, be able to liaise with multiple professionals across both TRFT and other partners.

Person Specification
Registration: Current Nursing and Midwifery Council
* Experience of delivering complex change and making improvements either within their own working practices or supporting others to do so
* 1st Level Registered Nurse, Adult or HCPC Registered Allied Health Professional
* Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
* Masters degree (or modules) or equivalent (or working towards)
* Specialist knowledge interest in LGI Cancer Pathway
Knowledge: Specialist knowledge of project / change management
* Working knowledge of national strategies for productivity and efficiency in the NHS and the wider public sector
