Job Type: Full time, permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours a week with the expectation that these will be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the services you support. The home does have a deputy manager, not on roster.
Salary: Range £45,000 to £48,000. depending on experience and qualifications.
Bonus: £2500 based on Ofsted rating of Outstanding for each home.
Annual Leave: 36 days annual leave (Inc bank holidays)

About our service:
Outbound Care is a family run business, we have predominantly based in the North-West, but due to continued success are now expanding into the North-East as we have proven track record with Ofsted of "Outstanding" and "Good" gradings.
We are seeking to appoint a manager to oversee this home which is registered with Ofsted, with a view of opening a second home next year. These two children's homes will be following an Outbound Care's integrated therapeutic approach.
We are ideally looking for home manager who have held registration with Ofsted and have a proven track record of effectively running a children's home. Although we will consider candidates with experience of deputising children's homes looking to make the next step in their residential childcare career.
Essential Criteria:
* QCF Level 3/4 Residential Childcare/Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People's Workforce
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services in the children and young people's residential management pathway
* Experience at Manager/Deputy level specifically within a residential home for children

JOB PURPOSE AND ROLE
To deliver the maximum quality of care in our Children's Homes, within Outbound Care's model of an integrated therapeutic approach. To ensure that a therapeutic / Nurturing environment is developed in accordance with the Company's core values. To ensure efficient and effective service delivery with a view to supporting the positive development of the staff, service and organisation and improved outcomes for every young person. To ensure the management of the home meets and exceeds the requirements of the Quality Standards for Children's Homes and attains consistently 'good' and 'outstanding' Ofsted gradings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in our care.
· Promote a safe, structured and nurturing environment and address any unsafe practices, conditions or concerns.
· Maintain high standards of childcare and be flexible in adapting to meet young people's needs.
· Ensure all staff practice is in line with care and placement plans, taking into account the views of the young person.
· Ensure that young people's needs, development and progress are assessed and recorded.
· Ensure that the young people are encouraged and supported to make decisions about their lives and influence the way the home is run.
· Take responsibility for the implementation, monitoring and review of the practices and systems in the home.
· Oversee the overall running of the home and ensure that it complies with and exceeds Ofsted standards.
· Ensure the operation of the home meets and exceeds the requirements of the Quality Standards for Children's Homes and adheres to the company's policies and procedures.
· Ensure adequate staffing levels and allocate duties consistent with conditions of employment.
· Induct, supervise and appraise staff within an agreed framework, and ensure regular staff meetings occur.
· Develop the skills and potential of the staff team, including identifying relevant training needs.
· Assist with the recruitment, selection and appointment of care staff in line with safer recruitment guidelines.
· Be aware of health and safety regulations and be responsible for their enforcement within the home.
· Develop and maintain professional working relationships with local authorities, external agencies, children and families.
· Work in line with the 'Statement of Purpose' of the service, and input into the strategic planning for the development of the home.
· Always promote anti-discriminatory practice at all times.
· To adhere to budgets and apply control over all financial matters pertaining to the operation of the home.
Other Requirements
· Undertake all relevant training as and when required.
· To act as on call manager and when rostered for the home.
· Cover shifts in an emergency when no staff are available.
