We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and experienced receptionist to work in the Diabetes & Endocrine Centre at Heartlands Hospital as part of a job share role.
The position advertised job share and the hours / days are set. This is a public, front facing receptionist role with a very busy, patient-focused reception desk handling high numbers of patients in person and via telephone. The role involves using Trust IT systems to book appointments and deal with queries as a team and using own initiative.
Applicants must have a good standard of education, keyboard skills, office experience, excellent communication and customer care skills, and the ability to work in a very busy and pressurised public environment. All training on the Hospitals IT systems will be given where required.
About the role
The position will involve providing frontline clinic reception services using the Trusts electronic systems OPTIMS, Oceano and Clinical Portal, to book patients in, confirm and/or update patient demographics, follow the correct patient flow, book follow ups electronically, scan and upload documentation, produce labels and other work on demand.
Successful candidates will ensure all processes within the area are followed and will work alongside Nurses, Clinicians, Medical Secretaries and other NHS OPD Services to ensure the patient flow and experience for outpatient appointments is smooth, supportive and professional. You will join an established team as part of a job share role.
