Main duties of the job
1. The post-holder will undertake all types of work as a general Radiologist across the hospital, including respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, strokes, colorectal surgery, cancers, etc. Interest in specialist investigations such as Cardiac, GI, and Interventional radiology is encouraged.
2. Ensure timely reporting of patient scans.
3. Provide consultation and advisory services to clinical colleagues within the Trust and Primary Care.
4. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical colleagues and participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities.
5. Maintain good communication with General Practitioners and external agencies.
6. Participate in emergency patient care development.
7. Encourage effective communication and briefing systems.
8. Comply with all Trust Policies and Procedures.
9. Maintain standards to improve the quality of care provided by GEH.
10. Ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements, including Health and Safety, Financial Instructions, and Incident Reporting.
11. Share responsibility for data protection related to computer use.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Professional Training
* FRCR
* Full GMC registration; eligible for the Specialist Register within 6 months of CCT/CESR.
* MRCP, MRCS, or other higher qualification.
Clinical Skills/Experience
* Extensive training in Cross Sectional Radiology.
* Postgraduate NHS experience.
* Experience in CT/US guided biopsy/MSK injections.
Skills and Abilities
* Effective communication with patients and health professionals.
* Ability to develop and implement service improvements.
* Teamwork skills.
* Completed management course.
Teaching, Audit, and Research
* Participation in clinical audits.
* Ability to teach and support junior staff.
Interpersonal Skills
* Good written and verbal English skills.
