Peterborough, UK (Hybrid – 2 days remote working per week)
Salary & Benefits:
1. £40,000 to £45,000 per annum
2. 7.5% employer pension contribution

About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of mechanical design activities for complex machinery. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, ensuring designs meet technical specifications, budgets, and performance KPI’s
Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer role:
6. Design new machinery using SolidWorks and CAD tools
7. Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings, parts lists, and bills of materials
8. Review and approve colleagues’ designs via PDM and ERP systems
9. Lead mechanical design efforts within multidisciplinary project teams
10. Create and manage risk assessments and technical documentation
11. Collaborate internationally with engineers from other disciplines
12. Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders
13. Mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to process improvements
What We’re Looking for in the Ideal Mechanical Design Engineer:
14. Proven experience in mechanical design engineering
15. Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD design
16. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
17. Excellent communication and time management skills
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Willingness to travel occasionally as required
