Job Description
Join us as a Mine Geologist where you will support the Woodsmith Geology team in delivering geological assistance for project development, including assisting with drilling operations for resource definition.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Consistently applyingSafety & Health principles in all team interactions and takes personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
o Complieswith all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices
o Completes personal risk assessments, equipment checks and inspections to ensure safe work
o Identifies and report hazards within daily work area to control risks
* Collectingand recordinghigh-quality geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological data to support project development, including drilling, shaft sinking and tunnelling activities
* Engagingwith Geology Team to maintain and improve data management systems and processes
* Assistingin validation of geological data from other sources including drilling, laboratories, geophysical surveys and remote sensing
* Supporting theplanning and operations of geological field work including drilling and surveys to ensure they safe, efficient and cost-effective
* Organisinggeological support tasks including warehousing and logistics
* Assistingwith geological interpretation and geological modelling incorporating multiple geoscientific datasets
* Engagingin continuous learning and development activities.
Qualifications
* Relevant Degree in Geology/Geosciences
* We are open to considering candidates at different career stages, including recent graduates, where there is strong potential and willingness to learn.
Technical Knowledge
* Operations
o Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
o Practical geological experience of mapping, logging etc.
* Management
o Data management techniques
o Good communication skills
o Project management skills

o Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory and regulatory requirements
