Ferniehill Surgery is a long established, patient focused and friendly GP practice, in our own premises on the south side of Edinburgh. Due to the retirement of our long serving Practice Manager, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, forward thinking and dedicated individual to fill this full time vacancy.
About us
We have a fully staffed, highly motivated and dedicated team of GPs, nurses and admin staff. The team consists of 8 GPs (4 Partners/4 Salaried GPs), a GP registrar (Currently GPST3), 2 practice nurses who provide an excellent chronic disease service, two mental health nurses, community pharmacists (plus pharmacy technician support), a physiotherapist, 2 phlebotomists and a 10 strong admin team.
We are a training practice and currently have a GP registrar working with us. Additionally we support fourth year medical students at the practice.
About you
The successful candidate will be expected to have proven leadership skills, and will play a pivotal role in the day to day smooth running of the surgery, including the continuing development of our practice, along with the day to day responsibilities of staff management, finance, planning and the provision of patient services. NHS management experience would be preferable but candidates with extensive management experience wishing to move into healthcare are equally welcome to apply.
In return we offer a competitive salary, which will be dependent on the level of experience of the successful candidate (we would expect this to be in the range of £45 - £55K), along with NHS pension, a supportive and friendly work environment and flexible working week requests will be considered.
