Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting ongoing UK infrastructure and fabrication projects by recruiting Platers to join our client's established team.
Due to the nature of the contract, all applicants must be UK Nationals.
What you'll be doing
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to exact specification
Measuring, marking out, and preparing plate and section materials for cutting
Operating plate cutting machines (where trained and authorised)
Fabricating and assembling steelwork in line with technical drawings
Ensuring full material traceability throughout the assembly process
Aligning fabricated items and checking tolerances
Tack welding parts as required
Assisting with overhead crane movements and hoisting (where trained)
Working in confined spaces as part of certain project scopes
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment, including cable management
Strictly following site-specific Quality, Health & Safety, and legislative procedures What we're looking for
Proven experience in heavy fabrication and plating
Strong ability to interpret complex fabrication drawings
Awareness of safety-critical operations, including confined space working
Previous experience working on large-scale fabrication or infrastructure projects
A proactive, safety-first approach and willingness to work as part of a team If you're a time-served Plater looking to work on prestigious long-term UK projects
