Responsibilities Perform all aspects of plastering, including skimming, patching, and rendering, to a high standard. Work on a range of projects with a focus on social housing properties, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of each task. Assess and prepare surfaces prior to plastering, ensuring they are suitable for the task at hand. Apply finishing touches to repairs and installations, ensuring a professional and polished result. Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, residents, and clients. Adhere to all health and safety policies to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others. Maintain and care for tools, materials, and workspaces to a high standard, ensuring sustainability and professionalism. Work empathetically within a diverse community of clients and tenants and address individual needs respectfully. Qualifications Essential: Proven experience as a plasterer, with expertise in plastering, rendering, and patching work. Knowledge of tools, materials, and techniques required for high-quality plastering. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in delivering repairs and finishes. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive attitude. Knowledge of safety standards applicable to plastering and the construction/trades sector. Desirable: Prior experience working within social housing environments or similar community-oriented work. Relevant qualifications in plastering or a related field (e.g., NVQ, diploma, or apprenticeship). A valid driver's license for traveling to project sites. Commitment to upholding inclusive values and fostering diversity in work practices. Day-to-day Review project briefs and requirements, ensuring accurate understanding of client and tenant needs. Prepare surfaces and work areas for plastering, ensuring all tasks comply with health and safety regulations. Apply plaster, rendering, or patching techniques to repair damage, install finishes, or improve surfaces. Perform quality checks and adjustments to verify that work meets both practical and aesthetic standards. Communicate progress and potential challenges to supervisors, clients, or project managers as necessary. Build positive working relationships with colleagues, tenants, and any external stakeholders or residents. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanour while working in and around social housing communities.
