Job overview
There is an exciting opportunity for a 12-month secondment post for a Band 6 mental health practitioner to join the team, based in Folkestone and covering South Kent Coast (Shepway, Dover, Deal).
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to join our established multi-disciplinary team. Experience of working and supporting clients who have experienced psychosis, along with families and carers are essential.
The successful candidate will need to embrace and work within the ethos and values of Early Intervention in Psychosis Services.
Main duties of the job
* Assess newly referred adults and children aged 14+ with First Episode Psychosis, presenting findings to the team, working with diagnostic uncertainty, and providing ongoing assessments and outcome monitoring.
* Manage a caseload of clients experiencing first episode psychosis with complex needs, using evidence-based and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
* Contribute professionally, supervise, and advise a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality mental health services.
* Act as care co-ordinator under the CPA process as appropriate.
* Provide leadership for students and junior staff through supervision and appraisal.
* Participate in planning, developing, and evaluating MDT services, including responsibility for specific projects.
* Supervise students on practice placements regularly.
* Participate in duty and assessment functions covering East Kent EIP.
* Provide profession-specific assessments and interventions for the wider team as needed.
