Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide strategic, operational, and commercial leadership to the Company, with full accountability for business performance, governance, and long-term growth. The role requires deep expertise in ship repair and shipyard operations, strong leadership capability, and the vision to position the business for its next phase of development in the international marine market.*Please note this role will be based in Bahrain*
Working closely with the Board, the CEO will lead the development and execution of corporate strategy while ensuring the Company operates to the highest standards of safety, quality, ethics, and corporate responsibility.
Key Responsibilities of CEO
Strategic Leadership & Governance
Lead, in conjunction with the Board, the development and execution of the Company's long- and short-term strategy.
Drive sustainable growth and long-term shareholder value.
Act as the principal liaison between management and the Board of Directors.
Ensure Directors are fully informed and provided with accurate, timely information to support effective decision-making.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all public disclosures.
Take full accountability for day-to-day management and operational performance.
Ensure the Company is appropriately structured, resourced, and staffed to deliver its strategic objectives.
Authorise recruitment and termination of staff in line with organisational needs and strategy.
Ensure company expenditure remains within approved budgets.
Oversee project management, commercial management, and operational delivery across ship repair and shipyard activities.
Identify and assess principal business risks and ensure robust systems are in place to monitor and manage them.
Ensure effective internal controls, management information systems, and reporting frameworks are maintained.
Ensure the Company operates lawfully, ethically, professionally, and safely at all times.
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)
Take ultimate responsibility for the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the Company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Management Systems.
Ensure adherence to industry safety standards and quality management controls specific to ship repair operations.
Promote a strong safety culture and lead by personal example.
Stakeholder & External Relations
Communicate effectively with shareholders, employees, government authorities, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
Represent the Company externally and maintain a strong professional reputation within the international ship repair market.
Ensure the Company demonstrates high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility.
Education & Professional Qualifications
Graduate degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering (mandatory).
Member of a recognised professional body, such as:
Institute of Marine Engineers
Institute of Naval Architects
Experience & Industry Knowledge
Minimum 20 years' experience in the marine industry, with a strong focus on ship repairs and shipyard operations.
Deep understanding of ship repair processes, industry trends, and operational best practices.
Strong strategic planning capability with a clear long-term vision.
Inspirational leader with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
