As an Assistant Site Manager, it’s your job to ensure that your department is operating effectively and efficiently to meet operational targets and to ensure that our customers receive their orders in line with their expectations of our brand. The role requires an effective people manager to drive performance by monitoring KPI’s and leading by example. This includes the direct management of a number of First Line Managers who in turn manage large numbers of Warehouse Operatives. You will report directly into the Site Manager and deputise for them as required. The Assistant Site Manager will develop positive relationships with other members of the Management team in the warehouse and Transport operation onsite and with colleagues in the wider business Our Regional Service Centres are large, fast paced 24 hour operations so there will often be a need for you to make quick operational decisions and to use your initiative. Drawing on your previous management experience in a similar role, you will use your extensive operational knowledge to set achievable seasonal targets for your division, whilst ensuring that we maintain a safe working environment. Working closely with the Senior Management Team and Trade Unions where required, you will naturally identify and drive continuous improvements to meet our ambitious plans for the future of Next Distribution. About you: As you will be the most senior Warehouse Manager on site, we are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Shift/Operations Manager within a distribution or logistics environment and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a large operation in a fast-paced environment. You will possess excellent people management skills, having proven ability to manage Managers in complex employment related issues and challenging situations, in addition to coaching and developing your team.
