Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Guest Service Assistant, helping to deliver excellent service across all areas of the hotel, which currently operates under a government contract.

About Us
Mercure Dumfries Cargenholm House Hotel is the newest addition to Splendid Hospitality Group's portfolio, which opened in January 2023. Situated in the serene countryside, Mercure Dumfries Hotel sits 2.5 miles away from the historic market town of Dumfries.

Role in our Family
Though this role is based mainly in the Front of House area, as Guest Service Assistant your responsibilities include:

•To operate the hotel reception to the agreed hotel standards
• Ensuring the set-up of the restaurant areas for mealtime
• Maintaining of buffets/drink service areas and clearing/sanitising of tables in restaurant area
• To maintain the reception, food and beverage outlets, public areas, stores, back office and staff areas in a clean and tidy condition.
• Deal with any guest queries/complaints in a polite and friendly manner ensuring guest satisfaction
• Monitoring incoming emails to hotel and responding accordingly.
• Compiling daily log sheet for your particular shift for sending to GM
• To clearly communicate with other departments to ensure minimal impact on guest service.
• Liaising with the other companies involved with running Home Office Contract to ensure smooth running.
• At times you may be asked to help in other departments as and where the business requires support.
