Stepping Stones Nursery Pembury is a new, and vibrant setting in the heart of Pembury, Tunbridge Wells. We are looking to take on some more experienced staff, who can help get us to the next level of our development.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager, to work 40 hours a week all year round. You will be part of a very small management team with yourself and the owner/manager, in charge of a small team of practitioners. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills wanting to put your visions and stamp onto a setting within its first year of opening.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
Working closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth and effective running of the nursery, maintaining high standards of care and education.
Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
Take over the management of the nursery in the absence of the Manager.
Support the development and implementation of engaging curricula tailored to the needs and interests of children aged 0–5 years.
Ensure individualized support for children with additional needs or learning plans, working in partnership with external agencies as necessary.
Ensure the nursery complies with all statutory requirements, including those set by Ofsted and health and safety legislation.
Keep accurate records relating to children’s attendance, progress, and welfare.
· Participate in inspections and audits, ensuring that the nursery is always prepared for regulatory assessments.
Qualification and Skills:
Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Ofsted requirements.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
