Payroll Manager - Marlow - 3 month contract - £250 per day
Role Purpose
Responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations across multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery while leading a payroll team and maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage multiple payrolls (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) across entities or jurisdictions
* Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, pensions, and statutory payments
* Ensure payrolls are processed and paid accurately and on time
* Maintain compliance with tax, pension, and employment legislation
* Oversee statutory filings and year-end payroll reporting
* Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and support month-end processes
* Manage payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy between HR and finance systems
* Lead payroll audits and maintain strong internal controls
* Manage and develop payroll team members
* Act as escalation point for complex payroll queries
* Produce payroll reports and support budgeting and forecasting
* Manage relationships with payroll providers and external stakeholders
Experience & Skills
* 5+ years payroll experience, including multi-payroll management
* Experience managing payroll teams
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
* Payroll systems experience
* Strong reconciliation and Excel skills
* High attention to detail and confidentiality
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
