As we scale our Bioinformatics capabilities, we have an exciting opportunity for a senior lead in our Machine Learning and Bioinformatics team in Cambridge (UK) and Boston (US).
We work on next-generation solutions to fundamental questions, such as antibody development and cell engineering. In this role, you will:
* Work in the Machine Learning and Bioinformatics team at the forefront of innovation in life sciences
* Propose, design, implement, and develop solutions for complex Bioinformatics applications that impact life-changing products and services
* Engage in challenging projects and end-to-end Bioinformatics processes
* Lead projects and participate in long-term strategic planning
* Supervise and mentor Bioinformatics developers and analysts
* Collaborate internationally with skilled colleagues to identify, plan, develop, and deliver production-quality, cloud-based solutions
* Grow and develop within a fast-moving company
Qualifications

We would love to hear from candidates with:
* Experience in implementing NGS analysis pipelines and developing bioinformatics approaches for DNA and protein sequence analysis
* Experience in antibody or protein structural modeling and understanding antibody structure-function relationships
* Experience in immune repertoire sequencing, phage display, and other experimental approaches to optimize/engineer antibody properties
* A solid understanding of data and statistical analysis
* An innovative, growth-oriented mindset; self-motivated, proactive, and a team player with a can-do attitude
* Ability to rapidly prototype, write, and maintain high-quality Python code using Bioinformatics libraries
* Experience leading projects and supervising team members
* Interest and endurance in tackling diverse, complex data problems
* A PhD (or exceptional talent) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Bio-Medical Engineering, or a related field
* Five or more years of relevant experience
Preferred additional skills include:
* Proficiency in R and statistical analysis
* Software development experience
* Experience operating in an MLOps environment
* Familiarity with relational databases, data integration, and statistical analysis
* Attention to detail and high coding standards
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, learning new tools as needed
