Lecturer in Business Salary: £28,997 to £43,748 per annum Position: Full-time, 12 months fixed-term contract (1 August 2026 - 31 July 2027) Location: Cheshire College, Crewe Campus About Us Cheshire College South & West is dedicated to delivering outstanding education and training to our diverse community. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Lecturer in Business to join our Crewe campus team. Role Overview This is a pivotal role within our Business department, contributing to the development of future business leaders and professionals. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, designing engaging curriculum, and supporting students in achieving their full potential. This temporary full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic educational setting. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and interactive lessons across a range of business aubjects suck as management, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship. Plan, prepare, and develop course materials and assessments aligned with the curriculum and industry standards. Support and guide students through their learning journey, providing feedback, pastoral care, and career advice. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement in line with college policies. Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance course content and promote best practices. Stay up to date with current developments in business education and industry trends to ensure curriculum relevance. Contribute to quality assurance processes, including course reviews and accreditation activities. Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and college events as required. Undertake other duties including tutorial support and associated administrative tasks; Promote and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons; and Marketing and promotion of the provision to employers and stakeholders. Key Person Specification Requirements: Teacher trained (PGCE, DTLLS or CertEd) or working towards; GCSE Grade C (4/5) in English and Maths; Degree in relevant subject (or equivalent is desirable) ; Evidence of ongoing professional development; Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment; Up-to-date occupational experience; and Enhanced DBS check. We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and from current industry practitioners who do not have a teaching qualification. Anyone joining the College will be part of a Lecturer Development Programme which provides staff with a range of support and training based on previous experience and individual need. The programme will offer a range of support and development opportunities, including inductions related to all College systems and processes, an assigned curriculum mentor and regular 1-2-1 support from the Quality team. Industry experts who do not currently hold a teaching qualification will be supported to complete a L4 Certificate in Education and Training and will have opportunities to complete a L5 Diploma in Education and Training.
