TP Tutors are currently working in partnership with Local Authorities and alternative education providers across Cumbria to deliver high-quality EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) tuition packages for young people who are currently not accessing mainstream education.
We are seeking a fully qualified teacher (QTS required) who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable learners. This role involves working on a 1:1 basis with students, delivering tailored sessions to support their academic progress, engagement, and overall well-being.
You will be teaching a range of subjects (primarily English and/or Maths up to GCSE, and Primary curriculum) to young people who may present with SEND, SEMH, or other additional needs. Tuition may take place in the student’s home, a public venue, or other agreed-upon locations – always with yours and the student’s safety and well-being at the forefront.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* Strong subject knowledge and ability to adapt curriculum content to individual needs
* Experience supporting students with SEND/SEMH or in alternative provision settings
* A child-centred and trauma-informed approach to teaching and learning
* Ability to build rapport, encourage engagement, and manage challenging behaviour where necessary
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through TP Tutors)
* Professional references covering the last 24 months of employment
Your Role Will Include:
* Delivering structured and engaging 1:1 sessions tailored to the learner’s needs and EHCP (if applicable)
* Creating and adapting resources and schemes of work
* Monitoring and reporting on student progress and attendance
* Maintaining regular communication with the Tuition Consultant and wider support network
* Ensuring safeguarding and professional boundaries are always maintained

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
