Title: Electrician (Electrical Craft Technician)
Location: Corby, Northampton
Shift: Monday - Friday (Rotating pattern of days, lates and nights)
Salary: Circa GBP36,000 - GBP38,000 per annum (including shift allowance)
The Company
We are undergoing substantial investment and development to drive the organisation's mission of being a sustainable metal provider. The successful applicant will be a time served Electrician who has worked in heavy industry, carrying out maintenance craft work.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the smooth operation and maintenance of the plant's electrical systems.
* Perform planned and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime.
* Troubleshoot electrical issues with AC/DC motors, drives, and relay control circuits.
* Handle basic PLC fault finding on Siemens S7 systems (300, 1200, and 1500).
* Read electrical schematics and use computerized maintenance management systems (MMS).
* Propose and implement improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
* Strictly follow all Health and Safety protocols and SSOW.
* Support departmental improvement initiatives.
Required Skills And Experience
* Qualified Electrician with a completed apprenticeship and at least 2 years of experience in a heavy industrial setting.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause failure analysis.
* Experience with low-voltage systems, drives, and PLCs.
* Familiarity with SAP or a similar computerized system.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
* Must have a driving license and a vehicle and be available for flexible shifts.
* 18th Edition certification (desired)
