Software Developer - York - Hybrid - Salary £30k-£40k (DOE)
Our client, a well-established brand in the hospitality and travel industry, is seeking a talented Software Developer to join their collaborative in-house development team. You'll play a key role in delivering and maintaining a high-traffic e-commerce platform while working with the latest technologies in a supportive, growth-focused environment.
The Role
You'll be involved in the full development lifecycle - designing, developing, and maintaining web applications built on Umbraco Cloud and .NET Core. This role offers variety, from building new features and integrations to supporting existing systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain web applications in line with project requirements
Work collaboratively with designers, developers, and business stakeholders
Deliver both front-end and back-end development using modern frameworks
Troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions
Support internal users through the ticketing system
Ensure data integrity and security in collaboration with the Database Administrator
Share knowledge and contribute to a positive team culture
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven commercial experience in C# web development
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or Angular
Strong skills in .NET Core, MVC, Entity Framework, SQL Server, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Web APIs
Experience using Git and DevOps tools
Team-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Desirable
Experience with Umbraco CMS (v9+) or other CMS platforms
Knowledge of Azure, Cosmos DB, and unit testing
Understanding of responsive design and high-traffic e-commerce sites
About You
You'll have a degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), a proactive mindset, and a genuine enthusiasm for building scalable, user-focused applications.
