Salary: Grade 6, £29,540 - £32,597 per annum.

37 hours per week

Your role

This exciting role is part of the Highways and Network Management service which is part of the Environment Directorate.

As a technician, you will be one of the key officers responsible for implementing our asset management approach to managing and maintaining our highway infrastructure and network management services. You will participate in/develop innovative projects that focus on asset management principles, highway maintenance and traffic management to ensure Wigan Council maintains its reputation of an excellent authority.


Responsibilities

* Assist in implementing asset management principles for highway infrastructure and network management services.
* Participate in and develop projects focused on asset management, highway maintenance and traffic management.
* Contribute to maintaining Wigan Council\'s reputation as an excellent authority.


About you

* You will exhibit the BeWigan behaviours and have experience of working in a highway/traffic management environment.
* You will have the ability to research, analyse and interpret information and make recommendations.
* You will have the ability to work as part of a team and as an individual, with an innovative approach to recognising problems and providing solutions.
* You will be an effective communicator with good customer care skills.
* You will have an ability to work constructively with elected members, senior managers, and other internal/external organisations.
