Role Title: Solution Lead
Location: Wiltshire area - 2 to 3 days on site per week
Length: Initial 3 months with strong potential for an extension
Rate: £600 to £700 per day via umbrella company
***Candidates MUST hold Active SC Clearance and MUST have experience within MOD Environments to be considered for the position***
The post holder will work collaboratively with key stakeholders, senior contract managers, and the business-winning team, including the Through Life Equipment Support (TLES), the Land Sector, and broader business capabilities. The goal is to deliver our win strategy activities by planning, designing, and delivering the future operating model to meet centralised UK and Overseas White Fleet Management Services. The Solution Lead shall:
1. Accountable for developing and designing the opportunity Target Operating Model and supporting capability integrations for identified opportunities.
2. Lead the solution team, managing work stream activities and inputs against the overall business winning strategy.
3. Create a compliant, innovative, comprehensive technical solution that meets key business targets.
4. Lead solution integration into contract negotiation and pricing activities.
5. Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful solution development.
6. Develop close working relationships with broader business capabilities to share knowledge, good practices, and innovation.
7. Provide timely reporting and management information in line with corporate governance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead solution development and foster creativity within the team and wider business.
2. Own the development of the future operating model, including process mapping and organizational design.
3. Ensure the solution complies with client requirements.
4. Lead internal reviews of the technical solution with SMEs.
5. Challenge operational financial estimates and inputs.
6. Collect, analyze, and present operational data.
7. Challenge existing practices and procedures.
8. Qualify the technical solution with the customer and SMEs to ensure needs are met.
9. Identify internal and external SMEs to enable a winning proposition.
10. Work closely with the Business Winning Lead to align the solution with the deal proposition.
11. Coordinate technical aspects of the written submission with the Proposal Manager.
12. Collaborate with Finance to develop effective costings.
13. Work with the Commercial team to understand risks and integrate solutions into the deal.
14. Assess technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
15. Explore improved delivery models with SMEs.
16. Drive towards the best value solution for a winning proposal with an appropriate margin.
17. Ensure the proposed solution is innovative and deliverable.
18. Identify assumptions, dependencies, and risks.
19. Quantify the value and benefits of the solution over existing models.
20. Perform other duties within the capability of the job holder.
21. Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, diversity, integrity, and trade controls.
Experience:
1. Deep understanding of solution development methodologies and processes.
2. Experience in developing solutions via a systems engineering approach in bidding environments.
3. Understanding of operating model design and supporting infrastructure.
4. Experience in enterprise architecture development.
5. Proven experience in similar roles and markets.
6. Experience working with target customers.
