About the Company:
Chris Donnelly Limited is focusing all in on creating the most practical high-performance business YouTube channel ever.
Chris has built four large businesses before the age of 35, scaled companies to eight figures, exited successfully, and built a social audience of over 3,000,000 followers. He is currently scaling Searchable to $1Bn valuation.
Chris's channel is built on the foundations of helping people everywhere unlock their potential by teaching the lessons, strategies and frameworks Chris has developed over the past 16 years.
Previously, Chris has run a successful podcast, but now he is focused on producing highly educational content on a new YouTube channel. We are investing real time, money and effort into making this world-class.
The goal is to build a massive, long-term YouTube asset that compounds for years.
Your Mission
You will be responsible for building a high-performance, scalable video production system that turns raw footage into structured, retention-driven YouTube content.
You will take full ownership of:
* Long-form YouTube (20–30 minutes)
* YouTube Shorts
* Instagram short-form
* Thumbnail creation
* You will set the creative standard and be accountable for performance, quality, and consistency.
Outcomes
You will be our Senior Video Editor and responsible for:
Overall:
* Understanding of why certain hooks work
* How to structure for retention
* Platform-native behaviour (especially on YouTube)
* How to turn raw footage into engaging content
Retention & Performance:
* Deliver high-quality, high-performing edits
* Maintain a consistently high standard of pacing, story clarity, music selection, and emotional build.
* Understand psychological triggers that hook viewers and keep them watching through to the payoff.
* Improve retention curves month-on-month
* Work with the producer to identify and eliminate drop-off moments
* Strengthen hooks
* Tighten pacing
* Develop high-converting thumbnails
Narrative & Authority:
* Ensure content positions Chris as a clear, credible authority
* Structure stories for clarity & impact
* Maintain tone throughout
Technical Excellence:
* Clean cuts
* Perfectly timed captions
* No audio glitches
* No formatting errors
* Rigorous attention to detail
System Building:
* You will be working as part of a team to produce these edits. You should:
* Create repeatable workflows
* Organise projects clearly
* Build reusable visual systems/templates that can be delegated
* Improve speed without compromising quality
Ideal Candidate
You have 3+ Years of editing high-performing long-form YouTube content
You understand:
* Retention psychology
* Hook structure
* Platform-native pacing
* Audience behaviour
* Why certain formats win
* How short-form feeds long-form growth
* How to structure engaging short-form videos
Person we're looking for:
* You have a creative growth mindset
* You take feedback well, implement it consistently, and improve quickly.
* You show curiosity and willingness to push creative boundaries
* Proactive in learning narrative frameworks, new tools, and new storytelling patterns.
* You can proactively spot and correct errors. (Attention to detail is key)
Technical Requirements:
Expert in:
* Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
* Photoshop
Strong in:
* Motion Graphics
* Custom text animations
* Branded overlays
* Thumbnail creation

* Experience working with creators, founders or personal brands
What Success Looks Like
In 6 months, success looks like:
* Channel reaches 100,000 subscribers
* Long-form retention improves from 15% to 30%+
* Consistent weekly uploads without operational delays
* Shorts meaningfully feed long-form growth
* A clear, recognisable, high-quality editing style
* Production systems that can scale beyond one editor
You are not just here to edit videos; we're looking for someone to bring creative innovation to the team.
Your Week
Weekly deliverables:
* X1 Long-form YouTube video minutes)
* X4 Short form edits.
* X3 Thumbnail variants
Our production week runs from Thursday to Wednesday, allowing a two-day buffer before posting on Saturday. Here is an example of what you can expect working with us:
Thursday:
* Take over the base edit from the editor
* Define story
* Flag any cut-downs for Shorts
* Edit hook
* Begin graphic overlays
Friday:
* Refine narrative & finesse
* Add remaining motion and polish
Monday:
* Make final amendments to long-form video
* Begin edit on Short-form content
Tuesday:
* Final edits on
* Reviews all shorts
Wednesday:
* Address final requests
* Deliver all assets.

Work Ethic & Culture
This role is for someone who wants to fully commit to building a massive channel. You should have an absolute obsession with YouTube, storytelling and video creation.
You will be joining a highly driven team that is motivated to make each social channel world-class. This isn't a role for a passive editor; we're looking for somebody who can pick this role up and run with it.
We regularly work from an office in London Bridge, which you will have access to whenever you require. As a team, we're in 3 days per week.
Growth Potential
As our most senior editor, you will have an opportunity to grow with the channel. This could evolve into a Head of Video or a Creative Director role.
