We are currently recruiting for a Quality Systems Manager for our lamb site in Llanidloes, that will be responsible for the development and maintenance of all the policies and procedures that form the Quality Management Systems to ensure that the business fulfils its certification, legislative and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, development, implement, and maintain site’s Quality Management System to ensure production of safe, legal food to the expected quality.
* To ensure that robust system/systems of works are in place to satisfy the requirements of Pilgrims and customer standards, codes of practice and third-party assurance schemes.
* Co-ordination of delivery of the Internal audit program to assess compliance with food safety, quality, and animal welfare (where applicable) standards.
* Actively promote a Food Safety & Quality Culture across the site through activities e.g. coffee events.
* Deputise for Technical Manager when required.
* Production of customer technical specifications, maintenance of customer technical information systems and provision of technical specification expertise and support.

* Ensure that the risk assessments of product and processes required are in place and to a good standard.
* Active member of the HACCP & TACCP team
* Support and participate in OPEX meetings and when required support any hot house programmes.
* Act as the nominated site representative to support the pest management contractor to ensure that appropriate measures are carried out to minimise the risk of pest presence on-site.
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of GFSI Food Assurance standards, e.g. BRCGS or ISO22000
* Knowledge of Retailer Food Safety, Welfare and Product Integrity standards and systems.
* Experience in HACCP, VACCP and TACCP risk assessments.
* Experience in 3rd party audit processes.
* Experience of dealing with major retailers and manufacturing groups
* Effective organisation and planning skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in use of PC – Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
