About the role
This role supports the team overseeing the commercial governance of our contracts with key consultancies and contractors – a vital role in the success of our projects, and our ability to maximise returns on our budget and demonstrate value for money.
Key responsibilities
 * Provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community, championing effective governance and commercial assurance.
 * Assist in setting up and managing pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements that deliver for both the Agency and society.
 * Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, becoming an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations.
 * Support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team in delivering value for money on commercial risk management.
Essential skills and experience
 * A‑Level or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent). Degree or equivalent professional qualification is a plus.
 * Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
 * Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations, take proportionate risks and deliver the most advantageous solution.
 * Strong organisational and administration skills; ability to write minutes and draft reports.
 * Data and document management capabilities.
 * Willingness to undertake long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC training, CIPS, APM, RICS or similar.
 * Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Additional requirements
 * Must undertake training and participate in incident response duties when required.
 * Must not be eligible for sponsorship; right to work in the UK is required.
 * Hybrid working accepted; some travel required with occasional overnight stays.
