🏗️ About the Role
I’m recruiting a MEICA Estimator to join a well-established national contractor with a strong pipeline and reputation across the UK. As a key member of our team, you’ll take the lead in estimating and tendering for MEICA-related projects, helping to shape innovative solutions from the very beginning. You’ll play a vital role in developing project scope and design, driving each opportunity through the estimating and tendering stages to successful contract award. Your expertise won’t stop there — you’ll continue to add value by providing hands-on advice and technical support to the Contracts Manager during the project’s enabling phase, ensuring each project gets off to a strong start.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
* Develop project scope with the MEICA team and align it with project objectives.
* Collaborate with the Bid Team on technical quality responses and tender submissions.
* Apply MEICA expertise to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable Water and Wastewater Treatment solutions.
* Support and verify process design development to ensure accuracy and competitiveness in tenders.
* Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, value, and timely tender inputs.
* Prepare and issue material, equipment, and subcontract enquiries, and evaluate supply chain tender returns.
* Produce detailed MEICA cost estimates based on client scope and technical information.
* Lead risk and value management activities during the tender phase.
* Prepare project budgets and cost plans.
💡 About You
* Strong understanding of the complexities of MEICA equipment, systems, and integration.
* Proven ability to assess supply chain proposals for MEICA equipment, including scope, technical compliance, and commercial value.
* Skilled in interpreting client technical drawings and developing accurate baseline cost estimates, including detailed labour, plant, and material build-ups.
* Qualified to A-Level (or equivalent) with a Foundation Degree or HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Solid knowledge of MEICA installation, commissioning, and process operations across both water and wastewater treatment, supported by strong technical construction expertise.
* Familiarity with estimating software such as Candy is advantageous but not essential.
* Understanding of multiple contract forms, including NEC, and the operation of frameworks within the water and wastewater sector.
