Warehouse Specialist - Sittingbourne Our client is one of the largest construction equipment manufacturers in the world. The Company has 25 manufacturing bases across the globe with 18 overseas regional headquarters, working with 8,000 suppliers and 400 dealers. The group employs over 40,000 staff and it is also one of the biggest private enterprises and diversified business across mining & construction equipment manufacturing, renewable energy, banking and insurance, real estate development etc. The Group spends 5-7% of annual revenue on Research & Development and has R&D and manufacturing facilities in the US, Brazil, Germany and India. An opportunity has arisen to join the fastest growing excavator business in the UK as a Warehouse Specialist. The warehouse specialist will manage large, high-value, and structurally complex industrial parts. This role requires specialized rigging skills, strict safety compliance for heavy lifting, and an understanding of mechanical components. You will oversee the end-to-end supply chain, from processing incoming deliveries and storing stock accurately, to picking, packing, and dispatching orders to meet customer demands Key Responsibilities • Receiving & Storing: Unload incoming shipments, inspect for damage, verify quantities, and place items in designated, organized warehouse locations. • Inventory Management: Update and maintain accurate stock records using barcode scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and perform regular audits to prevent discrepancies. • Picking & Packing: Retrieve orders accurately from storage, package them safely for transit, and prepare shipping documents. • Equipment Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and automated conveyance systems. • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety standards, hazardous material protocols and keep the facility clean and secure. • Preservation & Storage: Implement specialized storage protocols, such as climate considerations or anti-rust coatings, to protect sensitive mechanical and hydraulic parts. Qualifications & Requirements • Equipment Certification: Proven experience and valid licenses for high-capacity forklifts, reach trucks, and overhead gantry cranes. • Industry Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a heavy industry warehouse, such as construction equipment, agricultural machinery, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing. • Mechanical Literacy: Ability to read basic technical drawings, part catalogues, and bills of materials (BOM). • Safety Culture: Deep knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations regarding heavy lifting, PPE, and hazardous materials (like lubricants and hydraulic fluids).
