1. This role plays an important part in supporting students’ wellbeing and safeguarding at Hartpury University. You will be a key contact for students experiencing personal or social challenges, including those with BESD, Looked After Children, Care Leavers, and Young Carers.
2. The work involves providing one-to-one and group support, helping students navigate university processes, and working closely with staff, families, and external agencies.
3. You will also help deliver wellbeing workshops, resilience activities, and events such as WellFest.
4. A good understanding of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation is essential, as you will be involved in referrals and multi-agency meetings.
5. This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference to students’ lives and help them feel supported throughout their time at Hartpury.
About You
6. You will bring a solid foundation of relevant qualifications, including GCSEs in Mathematics and English and a Level 3 Youth Support or IAG qualification, alongside a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or a willingness to complete this.
7. You have experience working one-to-one or with small groups of students facing behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties, and you understand the realities of college and university life.
8. You are confident working within a multi-agency environment and building effective partnerships with education and social care professionals.
9. Strong listening and counselling skills, along with the ability to empathise and support students in challenging situations, are essential.
10. You will be highly motivated, committed to promoting student wellbeing and resilience, and able to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion.
