Financial Planning Analyst Role Overview

\

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading education provider as a Financial Planning Analyst.

\

The role will involve providing high-quality financial planning, analysis and reporting to drive business performance and foster growth. You will lead month-end reporting and analysis, collaborate with stakeholders to understand site financial performance, and ensure that financial KPIs are clearly reported on.

\

You will work closely with the Business Intelligence team to create and distribute financial results and scorecards through systems and automation.

\

This is a key role in the finance team and you will have opportunities to develop your skills and experience.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\

1. Lead month-end reporting and analysis to Operational leaders, delivering clear and accurate financial results in a timely manner.
\
2. Analyse monthly financial results prepared by the accounting team to highlight and comment on key variances to budget or forecast.
\
3. Collaborate with and support stakeholders to understand, track and analyse site financial performance, building rapport and holding them accountable for budget targets.
\
4. Ensure that financial KPIs for relevant divisions are clearly and accurately reported on, with key trends highlighted to support informed decision making.
\
5. Communicate performance effectively and objectively to the business, challenging budget holders and fostering a culture of accountability.
\
6. Manage and maintain the month-end query tracker, ensuring site leaders receive prompt and clear responses to aid their understanding of financial results.
\
7. Continuously review and improve the reporting processes and analysis across the FP&A and wider Finance team where appropriate.
\
8. Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to create and distribute financial results and scorecards through systems and automation.
\
9. Support the Finance Business Partners in the budgeting process across all areas of the Group, ensuring alignment to strict timelines and relevant analysis is adhered to.
\
10. Maintain a budget and forecasting financial model to ensure consistency of data across all areas, including relevant KPIs.
\
11. Support the Lead FP&A Analyst, Head of FP&A and Business Intelligence team in implementing system-driven automation for reporting, budgeting and modelling tools.
\
12. Build strong relationships with senior leaders and operational teams, including relevant department heads.
\
13. Act as the main point of contact on behalf of the wider finance team for responding to queries raised directly to the job holder.
\
14. Provide timely delivery of monthly reports and scorecards (with support from the Business Intelligence team).
\
15. Offer training and guidance on financial awareness to key senior leaders in operational teams as needed.
\
16. Partner with the Property and project teams to monitor project performance, support decision-making, and ensure budgets remain on track.
\
17. Develop and maintain knowledge of financial models, tools and systems to enhance analysis and reporting capabilities.
\
18. Improve communication between stakeholders by working collaboratively to meet financial goals and objectives.
\
19. Identify areas for improvement within financial processes and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
\
20. Support strategic initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and business development.
\
21. Other duties as assigned by management.

22. Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures.

23. Play a key role in driving business forward and achieving company-wide goals and objectives.

24. Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to the position.

42. Oversee the development and implementation of financial models, frameworks, and tools.
\
43. Strengthen financial control and governance processes to ensure transparency and compliance.
\
44. Promote a culture of accountability and responsibility within the finance team and across the organization.
\
45. Provide expertise and guidance to junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
\
46. Support and mentor less experienced staff to help them grow professionally.
\
47. Lead and participate in special projects as required by the organization.
\
