Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner
Join us in the Integrated Community Occupational Therapy Team at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. You will assess and treat adults with a range of conditions within their own homes, under the direction and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist.
Job Summary
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. If sponsorship is required, your application may be withdrawn. The position is 30 hours per week, part‑time with flexible working arrangements. You will travel independently across North Staffordshire to meet patient needs.
Main Duties
* Assume responsibility for a non‑complex caseload of community patients, formulating treatment goals and rehabilitation plans.
* Work independently and as part of a team, providing excellent quality patient care.
* Operate under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, demonstrating initiative and team spirit.
* Travel within a large geographical area to deliver services throughout North Staffordshire.

Eligibility & Application

Person Specification
* Relevant Level 3 (or above) qualification in healthcare, social care, or education.
* Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent).
* Completion of the Care Certificate within 12 weeks (pro rata) of commencement.
* Practitioner level 5 Foundation Degree or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
* Relevant placements/experience supporting assessment and management of individuals with compromised functional ability.
* Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
* Experience working in Occupational Therapy.
* Knowledge of Information Governance, Data Protection, Care Certificate HCPC, COT standards and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults.
* Awareness of conditions and disease management and their impact on individuals and carers.
* Competence in basic IT skills, facilitating patient management, discharge arrangements, and family/carer support.
* Willingness to undertake training relevant to the post.
* Ability to travel within a geographical area to meet job requirements.
