Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant – Pinner Location: Pinner, North West London Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only A specialist secondary SEN provision in Pinner is seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with a range of complex additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their potential. About the Role As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: * Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN * Support learners with needs such as Autism (ASC), SLD, SEMH, and communication difficulties * Assist with engagement, behaviour regulation, and emotional support * Deliver support through structured, sensory, and practical learning activities * Help students with life skills, independence, and personal development * Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff * Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans * Contribute to a safe, consistent, and positive learning environment Requirements * Experience working with secondary-aged pupils or SEN settings * Strong understanding of behaviour support and de-escalation strategies * Patient, calm, and resilient approach * Ability to build strong, positive relationships with young people * Willingness to support personal care if required * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Desirable * Experience with ASC, SEMH, SLD, or complex needs * Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or AAC systems * Background in youth work, care, or specialist education What’s on Offer * ASAP or September start available * Supportive and experienced SEN team * Ongoing training and development opportunities * Well-resourced specialist environment * A highly rewarding role making a real difference to students’ education and wellbeing
