As Quarry Foreperson you will be responsible for assisting in the extraction, crushing, and preparation of stone and concrete products to the standards set by the Company. More about what you will do Ensure that all plant is safe and fully operational. Specifically, the primary and secondary crushers and block production facility. Work closely with current site supervisors, managers and support functions organising operatives, preventative maintenance, service intervals, statutory inspection compliance and site upkeep Become familiar with plant set ups, settings and operating procedures to maximise required production Become familiar and use our internal safely reporting systems and procedures daily inspections, safely info Become familiar with and use our internal purchasing systems Operate mobile and static plant safely efficiently to maintain production levels become capable of operating quarry static plant and concrete block production plant independently if required Support existing supervisory team with maintenance hands on practical approach to repair and preventative maintenance Support with general safety supervision and subcontractor safety management Provide supervisory cover operative and subcontractor controls manage safe working practices with risk assessments and method statement and permits to work Assist with quarry blasting ops, preparing face for the extraction of stone. Including drilling and blasting preparation. Ensure adequate edge protection, rock traps, access roads, placement of materials for blasting. Ensure that quarry floor, haul roads, benches etc remains accessible for this task. Check that the correct grade of crushed stone is coming off the Crusher at each stockpile. If the grading is wrong the problem is investigated and rectified. Support the completion the Daily Inspections - via internal systems, Check proof, Asset Go and Enablon Check the condition of safety guards, emergency stops, provision of firefighting equipment, provision of first aid equipment, lifesaving equipment. Quality of the site in general, access roads, haul roads, yards, and buildings. Condition of the Quarry Face, crests, benches, haul roads, tips, lagoons. Visually check dust emissions from site, actively control dust suppression measures, check and be aware of site metrological conditions, predict and prevent dust emissions from leaving the site. Check site entrance and approach roads for dust and fallen debris from vehicles exiting and entering the site. Promote and encourage staff participation in all company policies. Including safety observations, risk assessments and safe systems of work. Health & Safety inspections, i.e., Daily/Weekly fixed and mobile plant inspections, ensuring all daily start up procedures for all plant and vehicles is completed on time and accurately. Keep Daily Diary is filled in. Details noted down include: Breakdowns, equipment requiring servicing or replacement Repairs are logged and who they were carried out by Liaise with the Weighbridge Operator to discuss the quantities of each stone type in stock. Allows weighbridge to organise transportation of materials to meet customer orders. Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair equipment, using various hand/power tools, or report malfunctions to management for external repairs or maintenance. Comply with health and safety procedures and policy to ensure the role is carried out without risk to self and others. To carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
