Finance Director
Salary: £60,000–£65,000
Hours: 37.5 per week (moving to a 100-80-100 model: 30 hours/week)

Are you a strategic, values-driven finance leader ready to shape the future of a growing charitable organisation? We’re looking for a Finance Director to join the Executive Team of a dynamic regional charity transforming lives across housing, wellbeing, training and community services.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the entire finance function, steer organisational strategy, and ensure strong financial stewardship in an organisation with a clear social purpose and a values-led culture.
What You’ll Do
As Finance Director, you’ll be the organisation’s senior financial lead, responsible for:
Strategic Leadership
* Driving financial strategy, long-term planning and organisational performance.
* Leading and inspiring the finance team to deliver excellence.
* Providing senior leadership insight to the Board, Audit Committee and CEO.
Financial Management & Compliance
* Overseeing annual budgets, business planning and financial risk management.
* Leading statutory accounts, audit processes and regulatory compliance.
* Ensuring strong internal controls, reporting, and financial systems.
Performance, Insight & Improvement
* Delivering high-quality management information and KPIs.
* Embedding a culture of value for money, data integrity and continuous improvement.
* Supporting business development, investment decisions and contract opportunities.
Treasury & Governance
* Managing cashflow, treasury and investment.
* Acting as executive lead for finance governance groups.
* Overseeing restricted funds and funder reporting.
People Leadership
* Line managing and developing a skilled team.
* Building effective cross-organisational relationships and financial capability.
Values & Culture
* Modelling and championing the organisation’s Christian ethos and values in all aspects of leadership and decision-making.
About You
You’ll bring:
Essential
* A recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
* Significant experience of management and statutory accounting.
* Strong business partnering and influencing skills.
* Proven leadership of people and teams.
* Excellent understanding of financial systems, reporting and controls.
* Ability to work strategically, think commercially and lead confidently at Board level.
Desirable
* Experience in housing, charities or social enterprises.
* Knowledge of FRS102, charity/housing SORP and VAT in a charitable context.
* Experience producing business cases and funding information.
You’ll also be someone who can:
* Work flexibly, including occasional evenings/weekends.
* Hold a driving licence and have access to transport.
* Embrace and promote the organisation’s Christian values in your leadership approach.
