Job Overview

We are looking for a Lead FEAST Advisor to join our team on a maternity cover contract. This role is essential in ensuring young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and ADHD are fully supported to access learning, develop independence, and participate in all aspects of college life.

As the Lead FEAST Advisor, you will work collaboratively across curriculum areas and with external professionals to ensure students receive the appropriate support, guidance, and inclusive learning experiences they need to succeed.

Salary: £33,827 - £36,853 per annum depending on experience

Hours per week: 37

Weeks per Annum: 52

Working pattern: Monday - Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7 hours

Location: Witney Campus

Contract type: Fixed Term until June 2027


Key Responsibilities

* Advise and support college staff on strategies for communication, learning, behaviour, and autism‑inclusive teaching approaches.
* Plan programmes of support alongside your line manager to ensure students with Autism / ADHD can fully access teaching and learning.
* Provide training, resources, and guidance to staff to promote best practice in supporting students with Autism / ADHD.
* Support monitoring and quality assurance processes, contributing to evaluating support and outcomes across the FEAST provision.
* Undertake performance management, supervision, and day‑to‑day coordination of your team.
* Maintain effective communication with staff, students, families, and wider professional networks.
* Provide one‑to‑one specialist support to students with Autism/ ADHD, including mentoring, organisation support, workload management, and helping them navigate college life.
* Support students during unstructured times and help them develop self‑regulation and independence strategies.
* Attend meetings relating to safeguarding, wellbeing, and student progression.
* Support transitions, including visits to schools and coordination with external professionals.


Essential Criteria

* Sound knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and their impact of ASC/ADHD on thinking and learning
* A Level 4 or higher Autism‑related qualification, or willingness to work toward one.
* Recent experience supporting young people with ASC / ADHD at Key Stage 3 or above.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, delegate, and manage competing demands.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to record information clearly and support staff and students effectively.


Desirable Criteria

* Familiarity with post‑16 curriculum and/or experience supporting students with ASC / ADHD in an FE setting.
* Recent specialist training in Autism or communication and interaction.
