Health & Safety Advisor - Wakefield
Working for a Regional Contractor that specialises in Street work frameworks from Highways, Utilities and Telecoms.

Role Description:
The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a regional contractor that focuses on Street Works based projects and frameworks. From smaller local authority-based work through to 5-year frameworks delivering various schemes typically on S278 works. This includes 5G Fibre cable installation, Water mains, Re-Surfacing, New roads for developments through to maintenance and repair contracts for the local authorities. The HSE or Health & Safety Advisor is the visible role for the Yorkshire region, operating within a 1-hour radius from Wakefield. Responsibilities include undertaking site inspections, engaging with the workforce to ensure best practice and health and safety standards are achieved. Conducting Risk assessment checks, inspecting the site, and being the safety champion for the sites in your region.
Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:
1. Knowledge and practical implementation of Health and Safety legislation
2. Monitoring and Ensuring company compliance with internal management systems
3. Site-based role that includes various site inspections both day and night
4. Conducting Internal HSEQ support
5. Reporting findings to the HSEQ manager
6. Communicating across the company from site operatives to directors
7. Championing safety and engaging with workforce representatives
8. Conducting incident investigations and reporting findings
9. Developing and submitting site-specific safe systems of work documentation e.g. RAMS, CoSHH, lift plans to the client for review and approval
Candidates need to be able to drive and have the flexibility to be a mobile Health and Safety inspector from a Construction / Infrastructure background. Previous experience in the Armed forces or a career change is also considered, as the personality and ability to build relationships with project teams are key for this role.
Essential Skills / Qualifications
* NEBOSH qualification as a minimum ideally with the Construction module.
* Full driving licence
* Ability to travel to sites 5 days a week with occasional night inspections
